It's been a while since we updated our post.
We have been busy this fall! After the Nebraska State Fair, members attended Husker Harvest Days. They continued to work on welding, projects, plant science and animal science in class.
On Oct 4, members competed in District Land Judging, and had a team qualify for state. State was held on Oct 25, in Broken Bow. The 4 that competed at state each received a ribbon earning our team an 8th place finish!
10 members attended National FFA Convention last week in Indianapolis. They also had the opportunity to take several industry tours which included: a dairy/milk company, a lavender farm, a sausage shop, a tractor museum, a Veterans memorial, a greenhouse supply company, an orchard, a candy factory, a donkey rescue farm, and an apiary. Members also attended a rodeo.
Morning tours are the best at Hummert International learning about the different types of greenhouses.
After seeing the 16 varieties of lavender at Battlefield Lavender, members went into the drying barn.
After Opening Session at Lucas Oil Stadium, members roamed through the Expo at the Indiana Convention Center.
Learning more about the history and watching the production line at Stonies Sausage Shop in Perryville, MOTomorrow, members compete at District Livestock Judging. The week of Thanksgiving, members will have a Thanksgiving potluck with the FBLA chapter.
December will bring us the canned food drive, and District Leadership Development Events.
